01 the services
I strive to communicate a sense of openness and intimacy in my images. You + your partner feeling comfortable is of the utmost importance to me so creating an environment that feels safe and relaxed is an essential part of my process. I create imagery that feels artful and elevated while remaining true to you and your day. I’m here to preserve your memories and capture your wedding as it happened. While I’m happy to offer direction especially during family formals and portraits the majority of my coverage focuses on the true to life details of your celebration.
my approach is
Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, milestone, or just because, life and your relationships are always worth documenting.
A day dedicated to your love and community, the biggest reunion of your life, and absolute dream party. Weddings are many things at once and always one of a kind.
Atop a mountain or in your own backyard. Elopements are all about intimacy, spontaneity, and the freedom to design a day free from tradition and expectation.
He is not only an extremely talented photographer, but also a lovely person to work with. He has a very calm and friendly demeanor that put both of us at ease throughout our wedding day and especially during our portrait shoot. Macaulay is a great listener and has such an awesome creative eye. He captured our venue, our guests, and us perfectly! So far we just have our "sneak peek" photos (which he got to us in just 5 days!) and we are already over the moon. I know we will treasure these photos and be transported back to our magical day each time we look through them. We couldn't recommend Macaulay more highly!
- Sam & Spencer
As soon as I came across Macaulay's website, I knew I wanted him to be our wedding photographer! His photos have such a documentarian, raw, and emotional quality to them — and was exactly what I was looking for. From start to finish, Macaulay was a pleasure to work with. He met with us to get to know us as a couple, and was very professional and communicative. On our wedding day, he was relaxed and made us feel like we were shooting photos with a friend. He struck a perfect balance between letting us propose places around the venue to photograph, but also had his own ideas to share with us. It was truly effortless. I was blown away by the beauty in our wedding photo album.
"Timeless DocumentarianWedding Photos"
Macaulay was so wonderful to work with and the photos are beautiful! We loved his laid back style, and felt so comfortable having him share the quiet, special moments of our day. We had a small wedding in our back yard with our closest friends and family, and he captured the intimacy of the day perfectly. Our posed portraits are gorgeous, and just as importantly he artistically captured the unposed, candid moments of the day in a way that will help us remember each special moment. His photos are even a window into some of the moments we missed as we were spending time with other guests, so we discovered even more moments of joy during our wedding as we looked through our photo gallery. He was a joy to work with -- laid back, astute, and open minded. He was also a wonderful resource as we worked through planning, bringing his years of experience in the wedding business to our conversations and making helpful recommendations along the way.
If my imagery and philosophy speak to you head to my contact form and send me a message. From there we can schedule a zoom call or plan to get coffee. I seek to get to know couples beyond the logistics of a wedding day and love hearing about your lives, how you met, and what you value in terms of photography. If we seem like a good fit I'll pass along a contract where you can choose the package that feels right to you. While I am always available for check in calls wedding questionnaires are sent out two months prior to your date. You'll receive a sneak peek of roughly 50 images 1 week from your wedding and the final gallery within 3 months time.
what do the next steps look like?
Absolutely! While I love the comfort and familiarity of my home in Vermont, getting to photograph a place with new eyes is a feeling like no other. From the lowlands of Savannah GA to the streets of New York City, I’ve had the privilege of traveling all over for weddings and elopements.
I'm a firm believer in quality of quantity and would never want to deliver images just to hit an arbitrary numerical mark. I spend time crafting your wedding gallery and the number of images fluctuate depending on what tells the story of your day most effectively. That being said couples can expect roughly 60-70 images per hour of coverage.
While I define myself as a documentary photographer in the sense that I prioritize candid and organic moments I believe that adaptability is one of the most important traits you can have in this world. I work throughout the day to know whats appropriate for the situation whether that means hanging back to let you enjoy the moment or stepping in to provide more direction.
Yes indeed! My photographic journey began on 35mm film over a decade ago in a high school dark room and to this day I still love experimenting and creating with a variety of film cameras. Inquire about film and polaroid add ons when you fill out the contact form and we can talk options!
I am insured and am happy to pass along my certificate of insurance whenever venues require.
